A Call To Action (CTA) in KEBS is an action item raised on a record that requires attention. CTAs appear as a widget on your Homepage for a quick glance, and in a full list view where you can search, filter, and drill into every item you own or have raised for others.
What is a CTA?
Pending work stays visible instead of getting buried in modules. Every action you owe and every action you have raised for someone else is tracked in one place with clear status, owner, and due date.
A CTA can be a task, a bug, a ticket, or any other action type configured in your workspace. Each CTA is tied to a source record (an opportunity, project, invoice, and so on) and carries a description, priority, status, due date, originator, and primary owner.
KEBS surfaces CTAs in two places:
- The CTA widget on the Homepage for a quick snapshot of what is on your plate today.
- The full CTA list view for searching, filtering, switching layouts, and managing all CTAs across the workspace.
The CTA widget on the Homepage
Start every day knowing exactly what is waiting on you, without opening any module. The widget puts the highest priority items one click away.
Widget controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| My CTA (n) | A live count of CTAs currently assigned to you. The number updates in real time as items are created, closed, or reassigned. |
| CTA to Me | Lists CTAs others have raised that require your action. |
| CTA by Me | Lists CTAs you have raised for other users, so you can track what you are waiting on. |
| + Create | Opens the CTA creation form to raise a new action item. |
| All | Master selector that switches the underlying scope of the list. |
| Priority (03) | Filters by priority level. The number in brackets is how many priority options are available. |
| Status (05) | Filters by lifecycle status such as Open, In Progress, Completed, Overdue, or Cancelled. |
| 🔍 Search | Search CTAs by description or related record. |
| Funnel icon | Opens advanced filters. A red dot on the icon indicates active filters are applied. |
The full CTA list view
When the widget is too compact, the full list view gives you the depth to triage, reassign, and report on CTAs across the workspace.
Tabs at the top
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Created By Me | CTAs you have raised, regardless of who owns them. |
| Assigned To Me | CTAs where you are the Primary Owner and are expected to act. |
| All CTA’s | Every CTA you have permission to view across the workspace. |
The Total counter next to the tabs (for example, Total : 28) reflects the count for the active tab and any filters applied.
Toolbar on the right
- Search CTA’s: Free text search across the description and related fields.
- List / Grid toggle: Switch between a row based list layout and a card based grid layout.
- Filter: Opens a filter panel for narrowing by status, type, owner, date range, and other attributes.
- + (Add): Quick action to create a new CTA from the list view.
Columns in the list
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Status | Visual indicator of the CTA state. A green check icon means the item is closed or completed. |
| CTA# | System generated unique identifier for the CTA (for example, 1725, 483, 393). |
| Description | Short summary of what needs to be done. Click the description to open the CTA detail page. |
| CTA Type | The category of action such as Task, Bug, or Ticket. |
| Due Date | The deadline by which the CTA should be completed. |
| Originated By | The user who raised the CTA. |
| Primary Owner | The user responsible for completing the CTA. |
| 📎 Attachment icon | Appears on rows that have files attached. Click to view or download the attachments. |
Pagination
Use the page numbers at the bottom (1, 2, 3, and so on) along with Previous and Next to move through long lists.
Your first session with CTAs
Build a daily habit of clearing your CTA queue. It keeps approvals moving, prevents bottlenecks, and creates a clean record of what was done and by whom.
- 1Log in to KEBS and land on the KEBS Homepage. The CTA widget is pinned near the top.
- 2Click the CTA to Me tab on the widget to see what is waiting on you. Apply the Priority filter to focus on High items first.
- 3To work through items in depth, open the full CTA list view and switch to the Assigned To Me tab.
- 4Click any row in the Description column to open the CTA. Take the required action on the source record, then mark the CTA closed.
- 5Switch to Created By Me to follow up on items you raised for others. Reach out on anything that is overdue.
- 6Use + Create or the + button in the list toolbar whenever you need to raise a new CTA. Add a clear description, due date, type, and primary owner.
Best practices
Faster response times, fewer missed approvals, and a homepage that always reflects the true state of your work.
- Start your day on the CTA widget. Treat it as your morning inbox before opening individual modules.
- Filter by High priority first. Clear the most urgent items before moving to Medium and Low.
- Use Created By Me to manage delegation. Regularly review what you have assigned to others so nothing stalls.
- Close out completed CTAs promptly. Leaving completed items open inflates your count and hides real pending work.
- Write clear descriptions and due dates when creating a CTA. The assignee should be able to act without needing to ask follow up questions.
- Attach supporting files. Use the attachment option so the assignee has everything they need on the CTA itself.
